Lord of the Rain
“Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time
of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers
of rain, to every one grass in the field.” (Zechariah 10:1, KJV)
Without much research, I took a
teacher’s word that God did not always control the weather, with the example
being that if God controlled the weather, he would never have had to rebuke the
storm. In hindsight, I think I misinterpreted what this teacher was trying to
say.
A simple word study on the word “rain”
in the Bible solidifies my opinion that God is absolutely and unequivocally Lord
of the rain and is the one in control of its release and withholding.
Baal
“Are there any among the false gods of the
nations that can bring rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are you not he, O
LORD our God? We set our hope on you, for you do all these things.” (Jeremiah
14:22, ESV)
Baal is a false god of fertility,
rain, and dew that was historically worshipped in Canaan and other places. Tradition
has it that Baal required child sacrifices. These sacrifices were done in an
effort to appease the false god so that he would allow it to rain and thus
increase the fertility of the land and man.
Baal in America
“They sacrificed their sons and their
daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their
sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land
was polluted with blood.” (Psalm 106:37-38, ESV)
The abortion rate in America peaked
in the late 1970s after the Roe vs. Wade
decision in 1973; since then, abortion rates have steadily fallen. In 2010,
states started adopting laws to restrict access to abortions, which made the
number of abortions obtained decrease even more. Missouri has been no
exception. Currently, legislation which will determine the fate of Missouri’s
last abortion clinic, located in St. Louis, MO, is pending.
As abortion rates in Missouri (and
nationwide) have declined, geoengineering has risen (See www.geoengineeringwatch.org). I
believe the science behind geoengineering is a direct attack against God’s authority
to command the weather, and I believe it is possible that inadvertent Baal worship
has occurred in America as we have continually and ritualistically laid our
babies on the alter of sacrifice for more than forty years while simultaneously
attempting to control the weather.
God is Great
“For I know that the LORD is great, and
that our Lord is above all gods.” (Psalm 135:5, ESV)
At the end of 2017, there were four
abortion clinics operating in Missouri. The Lord told me to pray for rain on
January 1, 2018, and to date, it has rained 93 weeks in a row at my house,
which is located in Missouri. Since God’s instruction to pray for rain, three
of Missouri’s abortion clinics have closed, and operation of the last clinic
has been strangled; its continued ability to operate is in question.
I praise God that He has sent the
rain as an angered Baal has received fewer and fewer sacrifices, a Baal who
would withhold the rain if he could. We do not lay our children down to plead
for rain, but we look to a God who causes it to rain on the just and unjust
(Matthew 5:45), and we come against the rulers, authorities, cosmic powers, and
spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12) that would
interfere with God’s plan if they could.
